Homework Grading Criteria
The following explains the guidelines for earning the best possible grades
on homework in this class. Homework is your opportunity to practice proper
problem solving skills, as well as presentation skills.
The following criteria must be observed or homework will be returned
ungraded:

Do all work in pencil.

Submit problems in numerical order.

Use only one side of paper.

Number each problem as it is numbered in the book.

Write out each question before any work is done.

Box all answers.

Leave a blank line between problems done.

When in doubt, use more paper.

BE NEAT! Messy work will not be accepted.
Here are some extra guidelines to help you attain better homework grades:

Submit homework on time. Homework is to be handed in by 3:00 PM
on the date due. A penalty of 10 % of total points possible will be applied
for each day late.

Show all your work. Just an answer is not enough to show a proper understand
of the problemyou will not receive full points without showing your work.

Attempt every problem. (Secret Code Phrase: Fiendish Physicists Find Fun
in Foolish Phrases). Partial points may be assigned for an incomplete
solution. If you have any questions regarding a problem when you hand in
your homework, write them down on your homework and you will be assisted.
(You may not get full points for the problem, but it will be of help to
you when you are studying for an exam.)
Each problem will be worth 10 pts.

4 pts.  Attempting the entire problem regardless of the answer

3 pts.  For a correct answer, partial credit will be given for incorrect
answers

2 pts.  Boxing the answer(s) / labeling what the answer is / using correct
units

1 pts.  Using pencil / being neat / labeling the problem correctly / writing
out the question
