Students earning a B.S./B.A. in Physics may qualify for a concentration in Chemical Physics.
1. The following courses are required:
A minimum of 3 graded credits selected from the following:
Chem 440 Thermodynamics 4 Chem 442 Chemical Dynamics 4 Chem 443 Thermodynamics Laboratory 4 Chem 445 Chemical Dynamics Laboratory 1 Phys 321 Waves and Quantum Theory 5 Phys 322 Waves and Quantum Theory 5
2. A minimum GPA of 2.0 required for courses counting toward the minor.
Chem 410 Selected Topics in Physical Chemistry 1-5 Phys 410 Selected Topics in Chemical Physics 5 Chem 421 Instrumental Analysis 3 Chem 422 Instrumental Analysis Laboratory* 2 Both Chem 421 and Chem 422 must be successfully completed in order to count towards the concentration.
3. A grade of "C-" or better in each course counting for the minor.
4. Students earning a minor in chemistry may not earn a concentration in chemical physics.
5. Students earning a double major or a double degree in chemistry
and physics may not earn a concentration in chemical physics.
